Beach Ball Goes Retro!

Who’s ready for a high school reunion? Calling all former geeks, jocks, cheerleaders, bad boys, bad girls, preppies, disco queens, hippies and wallflowers – this year’s Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation’s annual Beach Ball will be a ‘Classic Reunion’ of everything we loved about our high school years – all benefiting a great cause, local youth.

The event will be held on Friday, January 29th at DiamondHead Resort. Participants are encouraged to arrive dressed as they did in high school, and photo booths will be available to capture the memories of what will be a fun-filled evening of dancing, dinner and camaraderie.

“We’re also going to have a silent auction  – which is full of wonderful items including a Pink Shell 4-day stay, Pet Dental Center Full Pet Exam, Miracle Suite with 10 tickets, a Lake Tahoe weekend getaway, a New York Broadway Trip, 2 tickets to the Country Music Awards, the experience of being a NASCAR Driver for the day, gift certificates to local restaurants – even a Go-Pro that you can begin capturing the evening with,” said the FMBCF’s Sheryl Bowman. “Frank Torino is our live entertainment – he will be performing music from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s, and there is Valet Parking for the evening.”

The Classic Reunion will be from 6-10pm, and the $70/per person (or $650 for a table of 10) ticket price includes dinner and a cash bar. Proceeds from the event go the FMBCF’s Scholarship Program, which the group is currently taking applications for the 2015/2016 academic year.
