The Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club is holding their annual Flea Market on SA, Jan 30, from 9am-1pm at their clubhouse at 175 Sterling Street to benefit local charities. The largest Caribbean Cruise In Car Show of the season is set for MO Feb 1 from 5-7pm at Salty Sam’s Marina. Free and open to the public, you’ll see a variety of the area’s coolest hot rods, finest classic cars and custom trucks. More than 150 cars are expected at this show.
Enjoy our area’s finest delicacy, Gulf Pink Shrimp, at the monthly Shrimp Dinner offered at Historic St. Raphael’s Episcopal Church, 5601 Williams Dr. on Feb 6 from 5-7pm. All you can eat GULF shrimp, homemade cole slaw, baked beans, cornbread, beer, wine, soda and dessert. $20/per person.
The Florida Forest Service and Arbor Day Foundation are giving away 10,000 free trees to Florida single-family homeowners. Trees are available while supplies last and can be reserved at arborday.org/floridatrees.
GRAND RESORTS MEETING
Grand Resorts FMB will hold another Public Information Meeting regarding the proposed redevelopment project in the downtown district of Fort Myers Beach on MO Feb 22 from 5:30-7:30pm at Bay Oaks Recreation Center, 2731 Oak St. Fort Myers Beach. Expected topics to be discussed include additional advanced architectural renderings, traffic, parking and zoning.
The Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications. Scholarships are awarded based on community service, school, work, leadership and academic achievement. FASHION SHOW LUNCHEON
The Ascension Catholic Women will sponsor their annual fashion show and luncheon TU Feb 16, at the Church of the Ascension Parish Hall, 6025 Estero Blvd., Fort Myers Beach. Chapel by the Sea Concert Series will present Joybell – Kristine Stout on TH Feb 11 at 7pm at Chapel by the Sea. An exhibition of watercolors by local artist Kathleen C. Taylor is now showing at Café Italia, 20351 Summerlin Rd. These watercolors were painted in Italy during Ms. Taylor’s recent visit and include views of Naples, Rome, Venice and Tuscany. Taylor is a member of the Fort Myers Beach Art Association. This exhibition continues through March 26 and may be viewed during the hours of MO-SA 9am-8pm.

Dance? Sing? Play a musical instrument? Then join in the fun at the Fort Myers Beach Got Talent event at Santini Marina Plaza on SA Feb 13! Celebrity judges and trophies for junior and senior winners. DJ Brenda will have the sound system and microphones ready to go. MC’s Mark List and Jesse Titus, bearing a remarkable resemblance to Roy Clark and Minnie Pearl, will keep the show moving. Junior event, ages 5-15, registration at 10:30am; competition at 11am.
