    The Lakes Park Fragrance Garden will host a plant sale from 9am-Noon the last Weds of the month through April at Lakes Regional Park, 7330 Gladiolus Dr, Fort Myers. Most of the plants for sale have been grown in the Fragrance garden from cuttings or seed, so visitors can see the mature plant in its natural setting. Selection includes succulents, small trees, native plants, herbs, bromeliads, roses, spider lily bulbs and more. Master Gardeners will be available to answer questions. $1/hr parking with max of $5/day.



    A Nature Walk with a Bird Patrol Guide is offered on SA Apr 2 at 8am at Lakes Regional Park, 7330 Gladiolus Dr. Meet at Shelter A7. This easy walk offers the opportunity to see birds in native vegetation with experienced guides pointing out the many species in Lakes Park. Free with paid parking.     Residents and visitors may have noticed some areas of asphalt within the new concrete sidewalks in the downtown area. These are areas where there is still some underground work that needs to be done. Crews will be back to work in these areas after peak season. The asphalt areas are temporary and all sidewalks will be concrete at project completion. For more information on the Estero Blvd Project, visit



    The Caribbean Car Show will be held two Monday’s in April. Cruise on over to Salty Sam’s on Apr 4th and 18th from 5-7pm. The show includes hot rods, custom trucks and classic cars. Free and open to the public. 239-463-3257.



    The Friends of the Arts (FOA) Boat Barn Concert Series wraps up this season on TH, Apr 7 at 7pm when Jo List & Friends bring their popular show back to the Barn with Joe McConaghy on keyboards, singer/songwriter Michael Oakland on guitar, Bill Rountree on bass and vocals and percussionist Carveth Clauson. Tickets are $25/concert and are available now at the Fish Tale Marina office.



    All Islanders are invited to attend the 9th Annual Cruiser Appreciation Day set for April 2nd. What’s a cruiser? Any boater who cruises from port to port staying for a few days to several months. FMB has a mooring field with 70 mooring balls available for rental. Each year the Anchorage Advisory Board hosts a special day celebrating the cruisers who visit our Town. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun on SA Apr 2 from noon-3pm at Matanzas on the Bay, 414 Crescent St. for BBQ, live entertainment, door prizes, cold beverages and island hospitality.



    Like classic cars? Then you will love the 5th Annual Santini Marina Plaza Classic Car Cruise In & Snowbird Celebration on SA April 2 from 9am-2pm. This fun day at Santini Plaza will include Corvette, Classic and Antique Divisions-come show off your car! The day will include a Fresh Market and 40 vendors featuring handmade and homegrown specialties plus the Restaurants of Santini and a DJ spinning tunes and dancin’ in the street!     Enjoy our area’s finest delicacy, Gulf Pink Shrimp, at the monthly Shrimp Dinner offered at Historic St. Raphael’s Episcopal Church, 5601 Williams Dr. on SA Apr 2 from 5-7pm. All you can eat GULF shrimp, homemade cole slaw, baked beans, cornbread, beverage and dessert. $20/per person.



    You too can become a legend on Fort Myers Beach! The 4th annual ‘Mini’ Masters Golf Tournament returns to Jungle Golf, 17710 San Carlos Blvd. on TU, April 19 with the first tee time at 4pm. More fun than a barrel of monkeys with prizes, raffles and even mulligans. Open to the public as players or members of the gallery. Cost is $240/team or $5 for gallery tickets. Only 18 teams with 8 players/team, so register early! Jungle survivors will celebrate at the 19th hole at Pinchers Crab Shack. Trophies awarded, plus a secret hole in one prize. Register at



    The Fort Myers Beach Film Festival will be held April 20-24 and will celebrate their 10th year with a special retrospective of films from past festivals mixed with some exciting new ones. Opening ceremonies will be held WE April 20 at 2:30pm at the Beach Theater. Film screenings will be offered all day WE-SU. Two workshops will be held on Friday and Saturday. The Awards Ceremony will be at 2pm Sunday, April 24, followed immediately by screenings of the winning films. Volunteers are still needed. Email for more information, see

    Mound House is a unique archaeological and historical site on Fort Myers Beach located directly on Estero Bay and offers a variety of programs for local residents, visitors and school groups.
