Shell Point presents their annual Artists & Artisans Holiday Bazaar on FR & SA Nov 3 & 4 from 9am-2pm in the Village Church Auditorium. The bazaar features a large assortment of gift items for sale, including specialty holiday décor, paper crafts, handbags, jewelry, artwork, children’s items, books, wood sculptures, tasty treats and more. BOAT TOURS TO MOUND KEY
The Mound House hosts boat tours to Mound Key through April. The tour leaves port from Fish Tale Marina aboard the Estero Bay Express for an exclusive experience including a visit to the Mound House and then onto Mound Key, Capital of the Calusa. Learn the rich history of the Calusa as well as new findings scientists are discovering about this ancient society. Guest will disembark and hike the trails of Mound Key. Join an experienced Bird Patrol Guide in Lakes Park, 7330 Gladiolus Dr, Fort Myers, on SA Nov 4 at 8am for Morning Meander, an easy walk along clear paths with an opportunity to see birds in native vegetation. Lakes Park is a birding hot spot and crucial nesting area for many birds. Wear comfortable shoes and dress to be outside. Bring water, sunscreen and binoculars. On SA Nov 4 from 8am-1pm, everyone is welcome to join in this effort to remove monofilament fishing line and other harmful debris from the mangrove areas of Lee County. Meet at the Mound House. Volunteers use boats, kayaks, canoes, jet skis and anything else that floats to retrieve fishing line and other litter from the back bay. Sign up at klcb.org
The Fort Myers Beach Art Gallery is now open MO-SA 10am-3pm. Their Fall Member Show and the Summer Paint Group Show run through Nov 2 with free admission. On Nov 4 Pam Flaherty’s Solo Show, “Hollins, Horses, and Hanji” will open in Studio 2. A free reception will be held Nov 4 from 4-6pm at the gallery. The Bonsai Society of SWFL will present its 36th annual Show & Sale on SA & SU Nov 4 & 5 at the Berne Davis Botanical Garden, 2166 Virginia Ave, Fort Myers, adjacent to the Edison Home. The Show will be open 10am-4pm and will include an exhibit of bonsai trees, demos of bonsai (pronounced bone-sigh) techniques plus sales of bonsai and related materials and raffles. Experience the beautiful birds of Bunche Beach with a Bird Patrol Guide on SA Nov 11 at 10am. Meet on the beach. Bring binoculars, sunscreen, shoes that can get wet, water and your curiosity. Matanzas on the Bay will present “Wine on the Waterfront” a fundraiser for Operation Open Arms on SA Nov. 11 from 5-8pm. Premier wine tastings from around the world, fresh seafood and other culinary delights, plus live entertainment by Sheena Brook. Tickets $100/person. Operation Open Arms is a nonprofit dedicated to the care and treatment of military personnel and veterans with PTSD, facilitating $13.6 million in direct benefits for over 3,400 US troops.
