$15 Minimum Wage Impact

Beach Businesses Invited

Area businesses are invited to join a discussion next week on the proposed $15 per hour minimum wage. The Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association and the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce will host guest speaker Samantha Padgett, Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association Government Relations General Counsel, for a conversation on the potential impact of a $15 minimum hourly wage in a proposed Florida constitutional amendment and a bill filed in the U.S. House. These proposals will impact all businesses, particularly those with tipped employees as both proposals eliminate the tip credit.

Hear Samantha Padgett and learn more about this topic on Thursday, August 22 from 4 – 6pm at Nervous Nellie’s, 1131 First Street, Fort Myers Beach. The event is free, but pre-registration is required at EventBrite.com.

The impact of reduced funding for Visit Florida and its impact on Florida tourism and hospitality businesses will also be discussed.

Support our local schools while attending this event. Bring school supplies and participate in a raffle to support the schools. Nervous Nellie’s will provide discounted appetizers and beverages for attendees.
